Curuf Tepesi is an area with very old copper stained smelter slags and no known source of the mineralization.
We examined the big red hills beside the site and found them to be very young semi-consolidated sedimentary breccias/conglomerates and arkoses with no indication of mineralization. We also examined local chlorite schists and found no mineralization.
Somewhere on this hill ancient miners were mining copper. Further work is needed to discover the source of the copper slag mineralization.
